Equipment
  • peeler
  • small, sharp knife
  • chopping board
  • casserole dish
  • spoon
Ingredients
  • 6-8 potatoes
  • 2 onions, halved
  • 6 pork sausages
  • chicken stock
  • fresh herbs e.g. thyme
  • chicken stock - enough to cover the onions, potatoes and sausages

1

Peel 6-8 potatoes. Using a vegetable peeler, peel the skin away from the potatoes, always make sure that you push the peeler away from you as you peel.

2

Cut the potatoes into thin slices, using the claw cutting technique.

3

Peel the onions, sit an onion half flat side down and using the claw cutting technique cut into thin slices. Repeat with the other halves.

4

Layer the onions and potatoes in a casserole dish.

5

Squeeze the sausage meat out of the sausage skins and roll into balls, you will make about 4 balls from each sausage. Wash your hands really well after

6

Put the sausage meatballs on top of the onions and potatoes. Wash your hands with warm water and soap.

7

Add herbs if you have any and cover with stock. Cover with a lid and ask an adult to put into the oven for about 50 minutes to 1 hour, until the potatoes are tender and the sausages are cooked. Season to taste with freshly ground black pepper.
